Ossoff to speak at Prosperity Partners Luncheon on June 14

Sen. Jon Ossoff will be the guest speaker on Friday, June 14, at the Prosperity Partners Luncheon co-hosted by the Brookhaven Chamber and Perimeter Chamber.

Ossoff will discuss his role in the state’s economic development, upgrades to infrastructure, and legislation that has attracted jobs and investments.

Recently, Ossoff has been putting pressure on the U.S. Postmaster General Louis DeJoy to improve service at the regional mail processing center in Palmetto.

In an article by Capitol Beat, Ossoff was quoted as saying: “I will continue to apply maximum pressure so that seniors in Georgia are not going without prescriptions, so that small businesses in Georgia are not unable to receive supplies or get products to market, so that voters in Georgia are not unable to cast their ballots timely by mail.”

Born and raised in Georgia, Ossoff is the first Jewish senator from the state. In his first two years in office, Ossoff passed into law more standalone bills than any other freshman Senator.

Ossoff’s legislative achievements include laws to strengthen mental health services and public safety, tackling the opioid epidemic, investigating unsolved lynchings and Civil Rights murders, strengthening mental health care services for veterans, and improving security in U.S. prisons.

He has led bipartisan investigations that exposed the mistreatment of military families living in privatized housing, corruption in Federal prisons, the sexual assault of female inmates, and the medical mistreatment of women in Federal detention.
