Hallie Biden testified that Hunter appeared to be under the influence of drugs when he arrived at her house on the day she discovered the pistol. She found residues of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia while cleaning out his car. Hunter’s defense team argued that he did not lie on the gun purchase form because he was in treatment at the time and not an active drug user. They suggested that Hunter often lied to Hallie about his whereabouts when he didn’t want to see her. Hallie admitted under cross-examination that she was unaware of Hunter’s drug use at the time.
Hallie Biden described the events of October 23, 2018, when she found the firearm in Hunter’s car and disposed of it in a trash can outside a local grocery shop. Hunter expressed his frustration when he discovered that she had thrown away the gun. Hallie testified that she panicked and wanted to get rid of it to prevent any harm to her children or Hunter. She couldn’t recall exactly what she did after discarding the gun, stating that she was flustered and panicking.
Testimony from two police officers described the search and recovery of the gun, along with the finding of ammunition and other items belonging to Hunter in a dumpster. The FBI found a white substance in the bag that tested positive for cocaine. One witness, Edward Banner, who found the gun, stated that no one used cocaine in his home. The trial continues with the prosecution presenting evidence against Hunter Biden.
