These students allegedly submitted fake certificates to appear in the CBSE board exams 2024. The board’s actions have resulted in the placement of 49 Class 10 and 53 Class 12 female and CWSN private category candidates in the result later category (RL) for further investigation.

CBSE has set a deadline of May 21 for the implicated students to provide their comments and submit all relevant supporting documents to the regional office. CBSE clarified that in order to be qualified for board exams, applicants must produce a domicile certificate proving that they are a citizen of Delhi when completing the exam form. Failure to comply with this directive may lead to the revocation of their nominations and potential consequences.

All candidates are directed to submit their reply in the concerned Regional Office with all supporting documents within 07 days from the date of the notice i.e. latest by 21.05.2024 failing which their candidature will be cancelled. The CBSE board said that the domicile certificates submitted by these candidates were verified to ensure that they are correct. However, the certificate issuing authorities told CBSE that they have not issued the certificates submitted by these students.

“Hence, the results of these candidates were not declared on May 13, 2024 and have been placed under the Result Later (RL) category as per Rule 60 of the CBSE examination bye-laws,” CBSE added.
