ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Fair season is quickly approaching with the first few fairs preparing to open in July. Here are the upcoming fairs in the Capital Region for the 2024 season.
Punkintown Fair
The Punkintown Fair is being held from Thursday, July 18 to Saturday, July 20 at the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department in Voorheesville. The fair starts at 6 p.m. each night and features food, games, rides, and a raffle. All proceeds from the fair will be used to update the fire department’s equipment. Admission and parking are free.
Saratoga County Fair
The Saratoga County Fair runs from July 23 through July 28. The fair features hundreds of exhibitors and exhibits from antiques and livestock to vegetables and home arts. The fair also has live music, special shows, food, and rides.
You can buy tickets in advance or apply to be an exhibitor on the Saratoga County Fair website. The fair will be open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Ulster County Fair
The Ulster County Fair is set for July 30 through August 4 in New Paltz. The fair features rides, animals, food, truck and tractor pulls, and live music. Headliners include Joe Adee and the Lug Nuts, Mark Wills, Frankie Justin, Raelynn, The Marshall Tucker Band, and Jake Hoot. You can buy tickets on the Ulster County Fair website.
Schoharie County Sunshine Fair
The Schoharie Sunshine Fair in Cobleskill runs from August 6 to August 11. The fair has rides, food, music, and many events including tractor pulls, demolition derbies, and aquatic shows. Vermont State Fair
The Vermont State Fair is set from August 13 to 17 in Rutland. The fair includes rides, a demolition derby, animals, arts and crafts, music, and a rodeo. The fair will be headlined by Tyler Hubbard and Abducted by the 80’s. You can buy tickets for the headlining acts on the Paramount Theatre website.
Altamont Fair
The Altamont Fair is returning from August 13 to 18. The fair includes rides, competitions, food, vendors, and music. You can view the full schedule and buy tickets once they go on sale on the Altamont Fair website.
Mayfield Bannertown Fair
The 47th Mayfield Bannertown Fair is returning to North School Street from August 15 to 17. The fair includes live entertainment, food, vendors, rides, and fireworks. The theme is “Bannertown Boo Bash.”
Washington County Fair
The Washington County Fair runs from August 19 to August 25 in Greenwich. The fair includes entertainment, rides, shows, and vendors. You can view the full schedule and buy tickets on the Washington County Fair website.
Dutchess County Fair

Columbia County Fair
The Columbia County Fair is set for August 28 to September 2 in Chatham. The fair includes demolition derbies, rides, live music, food, and tractor pulls. On opening day, the fair opens at noon. Every other day it opens at 10 a.m.
Schaghticoke Fair
The Schaghticoke Fair is set for August 28 through September 2. The fair includes horse shows, rides, and food, and is being headlined by rapper Flo Rida. You can buy tickets on the Schaghticoke Fair website.
Fonda Fair
The 183rd annual Fonda Fair is scheduled from August 28 to September 2. The fair includes rides, food, animals, tractor pulls, and a demolition derby.
