2024 Nissan Fairlady Z Lineup Detailed In Japan, Includes New Customized Edition

Nissan announced the 2024 Fairlady Z in its home market in Japan, adding the Nismo and Customized Edition variants into the mix. The performance-focused Nismo is nearly identical to the US-spec model, while the Customized Edition wears a redesigned bodykit.

The Fairlady Z Customized Edition was previewed in 2022 by the Proto Customized Concept, before Nissan unveiled the final production model at the 2023 Tokyo Auto Salon. The model is offered as part of the Nissan Genuine Accessory Package, in two forms that will be available at the end of October. The entry-level package includes the front bumper with the split grille design and the carbon rear spoiler, while the full package adds the 19-inch alloy wheels, the special emblems, and the black decals on the hood and profile.

The JDM-spec Fairlady Z Nismo looks virtually identical to the US-spec Nissan Z Nismo, featuring the same sporty bodykit featuring a sleeker bumper intake, and more prominent aero components with red accents. The glossy black 19-inch forged aluminum wheels are also unique to the Nismo, as with the Steel Grey / Super Black bi-tone exterior that is one of the 5 available body colors. Inside, we find Recaro sports seats with perforated Alcantara and leather upholstery.

In Nismo form, the twin-turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine is modified to produce 414 hp (309 kW / 420 PS) and 520 Nm (383.5 lb-ft) of torque, compared to the 400 hp (298 kW / 405 PS) and 475 Nm (350 lb-ft) of the rest of the Fairlady Z lineup. As with the US-spec Nismo, the Japanese model one is exclusively available with the 9-speed automatic gearbox. Besides the more aggressive styling and the uprated powertrain, the model has a Nismo-specific setup with stiffer suspension, a more rigid chassis, stronger brakes, sharper steering, and an extra Sport+ driving mode.

Last but not least, the regular Nissan Fairlady Z remains largely unchanged for 2024. New additions include the standard Amazon Alexa compatibility across the range, the new 432 Orange shade for the exterior which is inspired by the classic Z432, and the blue interior for the T/ST grades.

Pricing ranges between ¥5,398,800-6,657,200 ($37,665-46,450) for the Fairlady Z, while the Nismo costs ¥9,200,400 ($64,195).
