SIKESTON, Mo – The latest season of “Farmer Wants a Wife” is set to premiere tonight on FOX at 8 p.m. Among the contestants is Ty Ferrell, a 42-year-old roper who owns a 50-acre farm outside of St. Louis.
Ferrell, known for spending much of his time on horseback lassoing his herds, is now trying to lasso himself a wife on the show.
For Ferrell, the most crucial factor in this decision is the approval of his 12-year-old daughter.
“She is definitely the number one person who has a say in this. If she doesn’t approve, then it doesn’t work,” Ferrell said in a Zoom call with FOX 2.
Ferrell says his desire is to find someone who is “his person” and shares an interest in living on the farm, embracing country life.
Despite the unconventional methods, Ferrell acknowledges that going on a reality TV show may seem like a unique way to find love. However, when the opportunity presented itself, he decided to take a chance.
“I was married and divorced. With a 12-year-old daughter and being 42 years old, the dating dynamic is a bit different,” he said. “Having this chance to do the show where the ladies come to your farm and get to know the farm life is the reason.”
To discover if Ferrell finds love, tune in to the second-season premiere tonight on FOX.
