‘Even foreign countries know ‘aayega toh Modi hi’ — ahead of LS polls, PM confident of BJP’s return

New Delhi: Exhorting the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers to connect with new voters, beneficiaries and every section of the community to ensure the party returns to power in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Sunday said that even foreign countries know that “aayega toh Modi hi (Modi will return)”.

“Today every country in the world is emphasising building deeper relations with India. Elections are still pending, but I have invitations from different countries till July, August and September. This means that various countries of the world are also completely confident about the return of the BJP government,” said Modi while addressing the party’s National Convention at Bharat Mandapam.

The PM added that he’s not seeking a third term for the sake of power, but just like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, he believes in working for the nation tirelessly.

“In the next 100 days, you need to connect with every new voter, reach every beneficiary, every section, every community, we need to gain the trust of everyone,” he said.

The PM added that to ensure India becomes a developed nation, it is imperative to ensure a third term for the BJP.

“The next five years are going to play a crucial role in realising our dream of a developed India. India must work tirelessly to take a giant leap towards becoming a developed nation. To achieve our goals, the first step is the BJP’s grand return to forming the government. There are echoes of ‘NDA sarkaar, 400 paar.’ To make this a reality, the BJP must secure over 370 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” he told the party workers.

Dreams of crores of women, poor and youths are Modi’s dream, the PM said, adding, “We rid the country of mega scams and terror attacks, and made efforts to improve living standards of the poor and the middle class.”

Attacking the Opposition, Modi narrated an anecdote where a party leader asked him why he doesn’t rest, considering he has achieved the goal of being the CM and PM, to which he responded by saying “But I am working for ‘rashtraniti’ (nation-building), not ‘rajneeti’ (politics),” he said.

Modi said he lives by the ideals of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and takes inspiration from him. “We are people who believe in Chhatrapati Shivaji. When Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was crowned, he did not say that if we got power, let us enjoy it. He continued his mission,” he said.

“I am not someone who lives for personal wealth and prosperity or my happiness. I am not advocating for a third term in the BJP government for the sake of power. I am a person driven by the resolve of the nation. My efforts are dedicated to the people of India. The dreams of Indians are my commitments. And it is for the fulfilment of this resolve that we are working day and night,” said Modi.

Pointing out how the BJP workers, despite being in power, have been working tirelessly for the nation, Modi said, “The BJP workers keep doing something or the other to serve the country 24 hours a day, every day of the year. But now the next 100 days are to work with new energy, new zeal, new enthusiasm, new faith and new enthusiasm”.

Sharing the BJP’s strategy before party workers, the PM asked workers to not leave any first-time voters at booths. “Meet every new voter and say Modi nae pranam kiya hai (Modi has sent greetings) and present him 10 varsh ka kaam, agale paanch saal ka plan (10 years achievement and next five-year plan). They are our brand ambassador and try to reach out to those who are still not along with us,” he said, referring to minority communities.

BJP’s achievements and policies

The Prime Minister also highlighted the schemes of the government, especially for the women and poor section of the society, and said he has a resolve to work for the nation.

“If I had worried only about my own house, houses for crores of poor people would not have been built today. I am someone who lives for your children’s future. The dream of crores of youth, crores of sisters-daughters, crores of poor people of the country is Modi’s resolve, and I am working day and night to fulfil this resolve,” he said.

The PM also recounted the decisions taken by the government.

“The past 10 years have been characterised by bold decisions and futuristic policies. We have dared to complete tasks that had been left unfinished for decades. Whether it was the construction of the Ram Mandir, the opening of the Kartarpur corridor, the abrogation of Article 370, or the implementation of the New Education Policy, these changes were long-awaited by the people of India. Nations shape their futures by embracing their history and culture,” he said.

The PM said the BJP ended the five-century wait of people and constructed the Ram temple in Ayodhya and highlighted how the BJP government showed the “courage to solve the problems which were pending for centuries.”

“By building a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya, we have ended the wait of five centuries. The religious flag has been hoisted in Pavagadh, Gujarat after 500 years. After seven decades, we have opened the Kartarpur Sahib Highway. After waiting for seven decades, the country has got freedom from Article 370,” he said.

He added that he was the first PM to raise the issue of toilets and speak about dignity for women from the Red Fort. “The BJP is bringing together the power of youths, women, farmers and the youth in building a ‘Viksit Bharat’.”

‘Congress resorting to insults, false accusations’

Launching a scathing attack on Congress for not fighting on ideological issues, the PM said the party itself is divided into two groups with one focusing on abusing Modi, while the other pointing out that personal attacks should not be made.

“Congress is so demoralised and desperate that it has lost the courage for ideological and intellectual opposition. Therefore, resorting to insults, and false accusations against Modi has become their sole agenda,” he said.

While attacking the Congress, the PM said, “This is the duty of every BJP worker to save every countryman and child from Congress.”

“Congress is the mother of corruption, appeasement and instability in the country. They have created instability and are still trying to divide the country. Congress has no future road map for the country and their alliance has no vision for India,” the PM said.

The Opposition has made caste census and representation of the Other Backward Class (OBC) community in government organisations a key poll plank, Modi said and highlighted how his government has a “record OBC representation in the government.”

“Our government is for everyone. Everyone’s support, everyone’s development is reflected in our work only,” he said.

Modi came down heavily on the Opposition for ignoring the Northeast part of the country.

“The spirit of ‘One India-Best India’ is also visible in our governance. The Northeast was completely ignored by the earlier governments. But we do not work for votes and seats. For us, every corner of the country should be prosperous and developed, this is our feeling,” he said.

“We have a record number of ministers from the Northeast in our cabinet. For the first time, a woman has become an MP in Rajya Sabha from Nagaland. We are proud that for the first time, we have given a place to a person from Tripura in the Council of Ministers. For the first time in our government, Arunachal Pradesh has got a cabinet minister,” Modi said.

He also criticised the Opposition parties for making big promises for political gains.

“Opposition parties may not know how to fulfil their promises, but they still don’t hesitate to make false commitments. Despite this, they lack the courage to make one promise… no opposition party will promise you a ‘Viksit Bharat’. Nor do they question us about it,” the PM asserted.

He said that these parties have acknowledged that they cannot lead India to development. “The BJP is the only party, and NDA (National Democratic Alliance) is the only alliance that aspires to make India developed by 2047,” he added.
