New video released from Chiefs parade shooting showing gunshots, aftermath

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Jackson County Courts were closed for President’s Day but FOX4 kept asking questions about the criminal charges and teenage suspects in the shooting that followed the Kansas City Chiefs victory rally last Wednesday.

So far, juvenile courts have pointed to unspecified charges against two people.

There is new video that shows more activity from the scene.

The focus of two new videos released to FOX4 by TMZ Sports showing the gunshots and their immediate aftermath.

The barrage of gunfire is followed by the realization of widespread injuries with people on the ground and others limping in the area.

Witnesses recalled what they saw as it happened.

“It looked a little sketchy, and then you just heard shots. And then I looked and I saw a body right there and a body right there,” one man said.

“Everyone on the stage was already gone. We started seeing officers jumping the fence and going into the Union Station. So it seemed like there was multiple situations going on,” Alfredo Rodriguez, a Chiefs fan visiting from Denver, Colorado, said.

“It was hard to comprehend what was going on. I didn’t really understand. It didn’t really go through my brain in that way,” another Chiefs fan said.

Another video, also from TMZ Sports, shows a selfie capturing individuals in the background around the time the first reports of the shooting came in.

One person wearing red appears to get angry and throws his bag down as he argues in someone off-screen.

Another person wearing all black with a bag also approaches.

The person wearing black appears with his pants pulled down in another video, apparently having been shot in the face. FOX4 blurred the bloodied area for broadcast, but you can see him holding his hand over the wound.

Also notable, one person in the video is in a brown jacket, appearing to wear the same thing as the individual in another witness video who was tackled by a bystander.

Another person in a black jacket and red beanie also appears to be reaching for something in his coat.

Currently, the two juveniles charged are going through the process which would lead to them being charged as adults.

It’s possible more people could be charged for direct involvement but neither police nor prosecutors have chosen to comment on that.
