NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Former Cardinals pitcher Adam Wainwright is showcasing a new talent to the public on country music’s biggest stage.
The three-time All-Star player will be making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, on March 9, according to Wainwright’s X account.
“I’ve performed on some pretty big stages before but this one is different!” Wainwright said on X.
As the former player recently joined FOX Sports as a full-time MLB analyst, he has also switched gears from baseball, pursuing a career in country music.
Wainwright released his first single in December, titled “Time to Fly,” which was directly dedicated to Cardinals fans.
The announcement of his appearance at the Grand Ole Opry is timely, as his full album will be released Friday.
Tickets to the show featuring Gary Mule Deer, Don McLean, The Oak Ridge Boys, and more can be found here. Prices start at $65.
For those who are unable to attend in person, Wainwright says fans will be able to tune in live here.
