Automotive distributor and retailer, Harris Group has announced a strategic restructuring of the company and the appointment of a new senior leadership team as it positions itself for a new phase of accelerated growth in 2024 and beyond.
As part of a number of leadership announcements, chairperson and CEO, Denise Harris, has appointed Brian Patterson as Group Managing Director. With responsibility for the business’ P&L, Brian will advise on and develop the company’s strategic direction, motivating the business to meet ambitious growth targets, underpinned by the core objective of delivering exceptional customer service in the areas of both sales and aftersales.
Brian Patterson brings two decades of motor industry experience to Harris Group. Starting out as an apprentice technician at Agnew Group (a Mercedes-Benz Truck and Van dealership) to working for Ballyvesey Holdings Limited for 13 years in the roles of service manager, regional general manager, and aftersales director. Over the course of his career, he has held numerous management roles with international brands, with a primary focus on commercial vehicles.
Before joining Harris Group, Brain was a freelance strategic leadership consultant, working with a number of well-known dealer groups.
Barry McGrane is also appointed as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Barry will spearhead the company’s finance and IT functions as the company enters a new era of development. A seasoned finance professional with over 30 years of experience, Barry’s career has seen him serve as CFO for renowned Irish and international businesses such as United Drug, Grosvenor, and Moy Park.
Barry has held senior financial roles in a wide range of diverse sectors including property development, construction, food, pharma and motor trade. Notably, as Finance Director at Grosvenor Services, he managed the leasing function of the company’s global security and patrol monitoring service. His extensive C-suite financial and treasury expertise positions him as a valuable addition to the Harris Group leadership team.

Founded by the late Pino Harris in 1961, the company is now under the leadership of his wife, Mrs Denise Harris, and is forecasting significant growth in 2024 across all departments, including sales and distribution, after sales, parts and assembly, and training.
The group has developed a depot in Liverpool from where it houses its UK offices, along with a parts & distribution centre and training academy, managed and directed from its Irish headquarters.
