Two national treasures from Tennessee teamed up and announced today something I can’t wait to get my hands on: a Dolly Parton line of Lodge cast iron skillets. As a super fan of both the country music queen and the popular brand of cast iron cookware, this news is music to my ears.
The one-of-a-kind collection features four Lodge cast iron skillets engraved with designs inspired by Dolly’s trademark flair. Etched on the bottom of the skillets you’ll find impressions of the iconic star and her guitar, as you can see in the image below. The functional and collectible cast iron skillets come in three sizes: 10.25 inches, 12 inches, and 13.25 inches. If you’ve been waiting to add a cast iron skillet to your kitchen, this is your cue.
I Highly Recommend Lodge Cast Iron Skillets
I am often asked about my favorite cast iron skillet. There are so many brands at vastly different price points—from a Lodge that costs $20 to a fancy schmancy $210 Smithey. I’ve tested a wide range of cast iron skillets as an editor and chef and own a few.
Though some of the pricier brands are smoother, lighter, and have pretty packaging, Lodge skillets continue to be my favorite and the only brand I recommend—you can’t beat the price and quality.
I own two 10.25-inch skillets and use them almost every day. Do I need one more? I have three kids, and if I plan to pass these kitchen workhorses down to each of them, I absolutely do. They may end up drawing swords over who gets Dolly, but as the Leading Lady of Country said, “The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.”
