Five people, including three minors, were arrested after suspects with white masks entered a Polo Ralph Lauren store last week at the Ontario Mills shopping mall and stole $5,000 worth of merchandise, the Ontario Police Department said.
On Wednesday, May 8, police officers responded to a report of stolen clothes at the Polo Ralph Lauren store at Ontario Mills. Authorities discovered that four people wearing all-white masks and black clothing took $5,000 worth of merchandise from the store, an Ontario Police Instagram post said.
Officers located information regarding the suspect vehicle and connected it to another theft that the Montclair Police Department was investigating, according to the police’s post.
Cpl. Eliseo Guerrero, a spokesperson for Ontario police, said Jovon Wagoner, 18, of Ontario, and Alexander Dorantes, 19, of Corona, were arrested in connection with the theft, along with three other juveniles.
All five suspects were arrested on suspicion of criminal conspiracy, burglary, receiving stolen property, and grand theft, according to Guerrero.
San Bernardino County Jail logs show Wagoner was arrested on May 8 at 628 Cadenza Ct. in Ontario. Dorantes was arrested later in the day at the 2500 block of Archibald Avenue in Ontario.
According to arrest records, both were released from custody on Monday.
Police recovered all the stolen merchandise and three firearms, one of which was stolen, during a search at an “involved” residence, the Instagram post said.
