AFCAT 2/2024 notification: The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) notification 2024. This exam is conducted twice every year for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Non-Technical and Technical) branches. As per the notification 2024 it has been officially released on May 20. The aspirants who pass the Air Force Common Admission Test-2024 (AFCAT 2 Exam) will be selected for courses that begin in July 2025.

Starting on May 30, eligible candidates can register for AFCAT 2/2024 on the IAF CDAC site through the official website https://afcat.cdac.in/AFCAT/

AFCAT 2/2024 notification: Eligibility Criteria

The candidates must have acquired 50% marks both in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level along with a three year graduation degree or B.Tech degree or BE degree with minimum 60% from a recognized university for the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (non technical ) positions.

On the contrary candidates must have acquired a minimum of 60% marks each in physics and mathematics at the 10+2 level together with a degree in graduation/ post graduation in engineering and technology from a recognized university for Ground Duty (Technical) in Aeronautical Engineering (Electronics) (AE (L)).

The selection process requires an accurate assessment including a written test, AFSB Test and Medical Examination. The vacancies for AFCAT 2/2024 includes Short Service Commission (SSC) roles in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty branches including technical and non-technical positions available for 304 openings.

AFCAT 2/2024 notification: Age Limit

Aspirants should be between 20 to 24 years old accompanied by birth date falling between 02/01/2001 to 01/01/2005 for flying branch. For technical and non-technical roles the age should be between 20 to 26 years with birth date falling between 02/01/1999 to 01/01/2005.Marital status of the candidate should be single and marriage during training is strictly prohibited.

The citizenship of the candidates has to be Indian falling under the Indian Citizenship Act of 1955. The criteria focus attention on the fundamental requirements of national allegiance and reflect the Indian Air Force’s core values.

AFCAT 2/2024 notification: Selection Process

The AFCAT selection process includes several phases:-

Phase 1– In the beginning phase there is a written test consisting of 100 questions. The maximum score is 300.

Phase 2– The duration of the examination is 2 hours and examination will be conducted online.
Phase 3- Negative marking is available, with one mark conducted for each incorrect answer.

Phase 4– Candidates who qualify the written test proceed to the Air Force Selection Board (AFSB) interview round.

The candidates who pass the AFSB interview round undergo a medical examination which will be conducted at the designated centers, primarily the Institute of Aviation Medicine in Bengaluru and the Air Force Central Medical Establishment (AFCME).
