Sony A68 A-Mount Camera With 4D Autofocus Launched Starting Rs. 55,990

Sony has just launched the A68 A-mount camera in India at a starting price of Rs. 55,990 for the body-only. You’ll also be able to purchase it as a kit with either an 18-55mm (AL1855) lens for Rs. 59,990 or an 18-135mm (SAL18135) lens for Rs. 85,990. The camera will be available across India in Sony’s flagship stores.

The Sony A68 features a 24-megapixel APS-C sensor and is powered by Sony’s Bionz X image processor. ISO sensitivity ranges from 100 to 25600 while the Translucent Mirror Technology lets you shoot 8fps continuous stills. The new camera inherits the 4D autofocus system from the more expensive A77 M2 which gives you phase detection autofocus (PDAF) with 79 focus points, including 15 cross points. The camera also has a dedicated f/2.8 sensor point for better low-light shots.

Sony’s newest offerings can record up to full-HD videos in the XAVC S format up to 50Mbps. There’s an Oled electronic viewfinder for framing shots as well as a 460K-dot resolution 2.7-inch LCD with the ability to tilt upwards and downwards. Sony has also borrowed some of the aesthetics and functionality from the A7-series like a control wheel on the back, for quick adjustments. You can assign 10 customisable buttons for frequently used functions. There’s even a front control dial for speedy adjustments of the settings. Last but not least, the A68 features Sony’s SteadyShot Inside to help reduce camera shakes.
