The $2.99 ALDI Find So Good I Buy 2 at a Time

Mama Cozzi’s pizzas are a big thing in my family. We love the fresh pizzas from the deli, the ones from the freezer section, and even the fresh or frozen pizza dough. Of all the Mama Cozzi’s products that ALDI sells, the one I buy the most is Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza.

My son Quinn was introduced to this product at his friend Jack’s house four years ago. Jack loved Mama Cozzi’s French bread pizza, and after one bite, it became Quinn’s favorite, too. This is why now, at any given time, I have at least two packages in my freezer.

Why My Family Loves Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza

If you need a quick lunch, snack, or dinner and you don’t have much time, this is a great product to have on hand. They only take 12 minutes to warm up in a standard oven, and with my new convection oven, they cook in under 10 minutes. Once baked, they’re crispy on the bottom, pillowy in the middle, topped with plenty of cheesy goodness, and bursting with bits of pepperoni in every bite.

They’re also very reasonably priced at $2.99, and one package contains two pizzas. Just a few weeks ago, they were 10 cents cheaper, so look out for sales, but they’re still at least 50 cents to a dollar less expensive than the more famous brand name French bread pizza. (Stouffer’s, if you’re wondering.)

They’re also topped with way more pepperoni than their brand-name counterparts. There is so much pepperoni on these little French bread halves that a few pieces usually fall off when you take them out of the package, and even more fall to the bottom of your pan. Just scoop them up and put them back on top of the pizzas.

We like them so much at my house that I recently recommended them to my friend Damon, who told me that he had grown up loving the name-brand version but that it had disappointed him as an adult. The ALDI version won him over.

How I Prepare Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza

For us, Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza started as a summer lunch because it was easy for my son to warm them up in the oven all by himself. Now, it’s turned into so much more.

They make a great desperation dinner, and if you cut each pizza into three or four slices, they make a fun appetizer if you’re having friends over to watch a game or if you need something to snack on while you’re enjoying some ALDI wine. These pizzas are absolutely fine right out of the package, but to dress them up, we’ve added sliced mushrooms or a sprinkle of Italian seasoning.

Though my son has gone through many favorite food fads, Mama Cozzi’s French Bread Pizza remains among his very favorite treats. When he finds out I’ve picked up a package or two, his usual response is, “Let’s go!” That’s music to any mama’s ears.
