My Family Is Obsessed With ALDI’s Newest Mama Cozzi’s Product

I didn’t answer my son’s phone call because my cousin was opening presents at her bridal shower. That was a mistake because, by the time I returned his call, he had eaten the entire package of ALDI’s new Mama Cozzi’s Cheese-Stuffed Breadsticks I had set aside to go with our pasta dinner that night. He had called for permission, and when I didn’t answer, he took it as granted!

Fortunately, at only $2.69 for a package of five breadsticks, I had no problem stopping by my local ALDI on my way home to pick up another so I could try them—I am so glad I did.

Why My Family Can’t Get Enough of Mama Cozzi’s Cheese-Stuffed Breadsticks

Mama Cozzi’s Cheese-Stuffed Breadsticks are what happens when garlic breadsticks and mozzarella sticks have a baby, and they’re a delicious new hit with my family.

Big, pillowy puffs of pizza dough are wrapped around mozzarella sticks and then slathered with garlic butter. Pull them apart, and you find melty mozzarella goodness. 

The package suggests baking the breadsticks at 425°F for eight to 10 minutes (and wrapping them in aluminum foil for softer sticks), 375°F in a toaster oven for the same amount of time, or just microwaving them for one minute. My son tried the oven instructions with the foil, and he found that even when using our high-powered convection oven, seven minutes wasn’t enough—you really do need to cook them for the full time. On another occasion, he found they’re extra soft if you cook them in the microwave. He’s, as you might be able to tell, a huge fan of them.

I found that the ideal way to cook them is to set your air fryer to 400°F for five to seven minutes. If you wrap them in foil, they will not brown, but if you leave the foil off, they cook more quickly and brown quite nicely. 

While these cheesy breadsticks are perfect alongside pasta, they’re also a tasty snack by themselves or with marinara sauce for dipping. They’re even great served as an accompaniment to soups, especially tomato and Italian wedding.
