Explore Brookhaven has appointed David Kemp as the new Director of City Centre Events and International Sales.

According to a statement released by Explore Brookhaven, Kemp brings “extensive expertise in event planning, sales initiatives and community engagement, making him an exceptional addition to the organization.”

Kemp had previously served as Membership and Partner Manager for Southeast Tourism Society, a destination management organization, where he focused on membership recruitment, partnership programs and advocacy for tourism industry professionals.

In his new role with Brookhaven, Kemp will oversee planning and execution of City Centre events, as well as providing coaching and mentoring to sales and event teams and area hotels.

“I am eager to join Brookhaven and contribute to its mission of promoting tourism and community engagement,” Kemp said. “I look forward to leveraging my experience to create memorable events and drive international sales efforts that will benefit Brookhaven’s vibrant community.”

Explore Brookhaven, contracted by the city to provide professional tourism leadership and expertise for the Brookhaven destination, has existed since 2019 and is also known as the Brookhaven Convention & Visitors Bureau, according to its website.

The organization is directed by a board of civic and business leaders within the community that represent lodging, food service, arts and culture, and the city itself.
