JENNINGS, Mo. — The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office issued charges to a St. Louis County man for an attempted burglary.
Karoin Morris, 26, is being charged with first-degree attempted burglary and resisting arrest by fleeing, according to the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Police say the incident occurred Tuesday around 11:12 a.m. when the suspect attempted to enter a home in the 8800 block of Clifton Avenue.
Police allege that the homeowner’s daughter was at the house at the time the suspect tried to enter the front door, and she saw him try the back door next. Once she made sure that the back door was locked, the suspect tried to enter the front door again.
According to the police, the suspect and victim were pushing the front door back and forth before the victim was able to get the door shut and call the police.
Police claim that when they responded to the situation, the suspect ran and climbed a building to try and flee police before eventually coming down and being taken into custody. The suspect claimed that he thought that the home was his aunt’s house.
Police say upon arrest, they conducted a search and found a clear bag that contained a brown tar substance. The suspect also had an active felony warrant.
Morris is being held on $150,000 cash only, no 10% bond.
