We don’t know what Hyundai’s design department had for breakfast when they formulated the new boldly boxy look of the next-generation Santa Fe, but we hope there’s more of it out on that buffet. The upcoming Santa Fe is as wildly different from the outgoing version as it could be without being an entirely separate model. The new one is bigger, has more rear cargo space, a longer wheelbase, and is to be offered in both two- and three-row configurations. In Hyundai’s explainer, they describe the Santa Fe as built to meet the needs of outdoorsy lifestyles—for people that attach tents to the roof or need a wide tailgate to accommodate adventure gear. Think less-dorky and more Land Rover Defender—and it looks great. Only a handful of images have been teased without any details on powertrains or pricing, but a full reveal is coming in August to feed our biggest questions.

What’s New for 2024?

If you can’t already tell just by looking, the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is a vastly different SUV. The dramatic transformation results in both an all-new interior and exterior design; the Santa Fe’s wheelbase has been extended, its front overhang has decreased, and Hyundai says cargo space is a major area of improvement. The company hasn’t shared full specs yet, but details surrounding the Santa Fe’s new look will shape up sometime in August.
