Simon Barlow-Smyth, from Stoneclough passed away in November last year after receiving his diagnosis in 2016.
Now family friend Deborah Panton says she hopes to raise funds for other people going through the same experience.
She said: “At least the money raised helped to get him some of the adaptations to at least make things a little easier around the home.
“This year I decided to have the fundraiser in Simon’s memory and donate all the proceeds to the Brain Tumour Research Charity.”
Simon, who worked as a business analyst, underwent surgery three times after his diagnosis and at one point even believed that his treatment had been a success.
But he tragically died after receiving the devastating news in March 2022 that his cancer had been categorised as stage four.
Brain tumours are one of the most deadly diseases afflicting both children and adults and kill more people under 40 than any other cancer.
A family fun day will be held at Bolton Cricket Club off Green Lane which will feature a lookalike Del Boy and his Trotter’s van, ice cream stalls, face painting, a bouncy castle and much more.
It will also feature food and refreshments, Zumba dancing demonstrations and hair braiding.
Deborah said: “This year I hope the event will be as successful or better than last year and I’m hoping we can top last year’s total.
“We are still looking for any stall holders who would like to support the event, bottles and items for our tombolas if anyone has any suitable.

“Donations would also be greatly received to add to the final total.
