Gemma Atkinson and Gorka Marquez share photo and name of newborn son

The former actress welcomed her second child with her fiancé, Strictly Come Dancing professional Gorka Marquez earlier this week, making an announcement on her social media on July 19.

And now Gemma, 38, from Bury, has shared the name of her newborn – Thiago Thomas Marquez.

Taking to Instagram this evening, July 22, Gemma and Gorka shared a joint post revealing a first look of their beautiful baby boy alongside caption “Thiago Thomas Marquez. Our family is complete.”

Gemma also shared the meaning behind her little boys name.

She said: “Thiago Thomas. Thiago is originally a Portuguese name (Gorkas mum is from Portugal). And Thomas was my dads middle name so there’s the mix of the two.

“Tio is thriving and it feels like he’s always been here. Mia is obsessed!

“Thank you everyone for the lovely messages. We feel extremely lucky.”

The couple met in 2017 when the Hits Radio presenter appeared on Strictly Come Dancing and even though they weren’t coupled up, they became one after the show.

They have a three-year-old daughter Mia and announced their latest pregnancy back in January when Gemma shared pictures of her baby bump.

During their daughter Mia’s birth, Atkinson needed an emergency C-section when her baby’s heart rate dropped suddenly and the actress suffered a haemorrhage after the birth, losing nearly a litre of blood.

She previously admitted the experience in 2019 left her having nightmares and was adamant she would not want another child.

However, last year, she said she finally felt ready to have a second baby after working through her initial fear.

Gemma, who is president of Bleakholt Animal Sanctuary in Edenfield, has appeared in a number of TV soaps and dramas including playing Lisa Hunter in Hollyoaks, Tamzin Bayle in Casualty and Carly Hope in Emmerdale.

She also presents her show on Hits Radio while her Spanish dancer and choreographer partner has been a professional dancer on Strictly since 2016.
