Officers say they have identified a gang of youths responsible for anti-social behaviour.
Their parents have been told.
And now the children will be ordered to attend a programme – Acceptable Behaviour Contract (ABC), which combines both support and enforcement.
The contracts will challenge the young people about their behaviour and warn them about the consequences at an early stage.
This is part of ongoing work with the Bolton West policing team and partner agencies with the aim of tackling crime and antisocial behaviour.
Parents and guardians are notified in writing and enforcement takes a staged approach.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “In relation to issues of anti-social behaviour at The Loco works in Horwich, a number of youths have been identified and referred through to Bolton council to be placed on the ABC pathway.
“The ABC (Acceptable behaviour contract) combines both support and enforcement.
“It is an early intervention process where young people are challenged about their behaviour and warned about the consequences at an early stage.
“Their parents/guardians are also notified in writing and enforcement takes a staged approach.”
A crack down on anti-social behaviour in the area started after a fire and police stepped up patrols in the area.
A number of operations have been taking place across Bolton to tackle anti-social behaviour.
