Cartoon Network’s late-night programming block “Adult Swim” reveals the first trailer of the Japanese anime adaptation of the fan-favorite science fiction animated show “Rick and Morty.”
Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, “Rick and Morty” is a popular animated adult sci-fi sitcom that airs on Cartoon Network’s nighttime programming block “Adult Swim.” The Emmy-award winning show follows Rick Sanchez, a mad scientist, and his grandson Morty Smith as they go through adventures across different dimensions and realities.
The show has one of the best ratings in “Adult Swim” history and currently has an approval rating of 92% on the review-aggregator website “Rotten Tomatoes.”
“Adult Swim” revealed this past Thursday, at the San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC), the first look at the Japanese-American anime version of “Rick & Morty” titled “Rick and Morty: The Anime.”
The show will be directed by “Tower of God” director Takashi Sano, who stated, in a video shown at SDCC, that he is a huge fan of “Rick and Morty” and tried to “compress [his favorite parts of the show] down to extract their essence, and then add a unique Japanese twist.”
The show will have 10 episodes, with no exact release date as of now.
