A man allegedly caught drunk-driving a mower on a Queensland street claimed he was going to “mow my daughter’s lawn” in the middle of the night.
The 51-year-old man was pulled over on Herbert St in Ingham about 1am on Sunday when officers in a patrol car spotted him riding the mower on the wrong side of the road.
Asked what he was doing, the man told an officer: “I just thought I’d drive this old girl over to mow my daughter’s lawn”, police bodycam footage shows.

The officer responded: “Not at 1 o’clock in the morning and not drunk.”
The man allegedly blew 0.191 — nearly four times over the legal blood-alcohol limit — on a breathalyser test.
He was charged with high-range drink driving.
The local man is due to face Ingham Magistrates Court on September 7.
