Bolton: Man found guilty of Class A drugs conspiracy

Saacid Nahir, 23, was one of a group of men arrested in the early hours of March 2 this year after police raided several homes in the borough.

Bolton Crown Court heard how during the raids Nahir was found at a house on Oxford Grove.

Anna Bond, prosecuting, said: “There was over £6,000 in cash at that property, and over £25,000 worth of drugs.

“He had no shoes on and that is good evidence he had just woken up.

“Almost all of the drugs that were found in that property were found in that room.

“There were 122 grams of heroin and 115 grams of cocaine.

“There were 1,380 individual wraps.”

She added: “Other drugs were found in the kitchen, there were 13.46 grams of cocaine in there.”

The court heard how Nahir’s home at Harvest Park was raided that same morning, with drugs and £15,770 in cash found.

Several other men were arrested and also charged with playing parts in the conspiracy.

But Nahir, of Harvest Park, denied planning to sell the drugs between June 2022 and March this year.

During a trial which unfolded over last week, the court heard further evidence from police officers how a phone was taken from the 23-year-old when he was arrested, which seemed to contain references to heroin.

The possible heroin allusion referred to “downs.”

Questioned by Ms Bond, PC Paul Trecharichi of Greater Manchester Police’s Bolton Challenger Team said: “One possibility is that it relates to heroin.

“Heroin when you are coming down it is a downer, but I can’t be sure.”

PC Trecharichi added that there were also references to bulks, which could refer to drugs being bought in bulk before they are diluted to maximise profits.

On Monday afternoon, Nahir was found guilty of conspiracy to supply Class A drugs and of possessing cash from criminal activity.

He will be brought back to Bolton Crown Court to be sentenced on September 7.
