Giants’ Daniel Jones, Darren Waller continue to build chemistry

Observations from Saturday’s Giants camp:

Potential on display

It was a mixed day for the Giants offense, especially during individual reps against DBs earlier in the session, but there were also flashes of potential as the Daniel Jones-Darren Waller connection continued to blossom, especially around the red zone.

Jalin Hyatt’s impressive training camp continued as he and backup QB Tyrod Taylor connected on a touchdown pass.

Taylor hit Hyatt in stride as he cut toward the left corner of the end zone.

Communication breakdown

In addition to the offense’s occasional miscommunications and misconnections, head coach Brian Daboll was furious with a delay of game.

It happened again later, followed by what appeared to be a false start a few plays after that.

Caught my eye

Sterling Shepard’s gradual return continued after he was activated from the physically unable to perform list and returned to practice.

Daboll said before the session Shepard is doing “everything we’ve asked.”

His return makes the Giants’ receiver room crowded.

Amani Oruwariye broke up a pass intended for Isaiah Hodgins before the 11-on-11 periods, but Hodgins, Shepard, Hyatt and others continued to impress.

Injury report

RT Evan Neal missed practice and still remained in concussion protocol.

DL Ryder Anderson (triceps) will be out a few weeks.

OLB Azeez Ojulari needed another rest day, but Shepard, DL Leonard Williams and G Jack Anderson all practiced.
