Land Rover has introduced a new Defender Trophy Edition for North America.
Based on the 2023 Defender 130 P400 SE, the special edition features a matte Santorini Black exterior with a special Trophy Edition wrap. The latter adds a golden topographical design to the doors and spare tire cover.
The upgrades don’t end there as the special edition features Defender Trophy badging, an exterior black pack, and an expedition roof rack with a deployable ladder. Other highlights include a Pelican roof box, a winch, and a front skid plate. The model also sports mud flaps, wheel arch protection, a tow hitch receiver, and black recovery points.

Land Rover didn’t release interior pictures, but the Defender Trophy Edition features Ebony leather seats and special badging. It also sounds like there’s a rubberized mat in the cargo area.
Since the special edition is based on the Defender 130 P400 SE, it features a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six with mild-hybrid technology as well as an electric supercharger. This enables the engine to produce 395 hp (295 kW / 400 PS) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. The setup allows the standard model to accelerate from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 6.3 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 119 mph (192 km/h).
Besides the vehicle itself, buyers are invited to take part in the one-day Defender Trophy Competition, which kicks off in Austin, Texas on October 29. Up to 90 two-person teams can compete in the event and the winning team will receive a four-day adventure in South Africa.
220 Defender Trophy Editions will be available in the United States and pricing starts at $103,000 before a $1,475 destination charge. An additional 10 units will also be offered in Canada.
