John McGinn’s brother, Paul, has joked there is ‘no way’ Jack Grealish will be best man at the Aston Villa captain’s wedding.
The Motherwell star, whose little brother plays for the Villans, will be reunited with his family ahead of Wednesday night’s Europa Conference League clash.
Villa face Hibernian in a play-off clash to reach the group stage with the first leg going ahead at Easter Road, live on talkSPORT 2.
The match has already been billed as the McGinn derby as the Scotsman has played for both sides and remains greatly appreciated in the green half of Edinburgh.
But while the McGinns might meet up, John might have some explaining to do after Paul spoke to Alan Brazil and Ally McCoist on talkSPORT Breakfast.
Poking a little fun, Brazil insisted that John McGinn’s best man at his upcoming wedding will be his old Villa pal Grealish.
Brazil asked: “So, your brother has just got engaged I believe recently and he’s blown you out!
“I think Jack Grealish is going to be his best man, how do you feel about that?”
Paul replied: “There is no way anyone picks Jack Grealish as their best man!”
McCoist chimed in and said: “That would be riddled with danger, let’s be honest!
“Inviting Jack to your wedding would be a risk!”
And when talking about the resulting stag do, the older McGinn admitted they may have to get creative with the location.
He laughed: “I don’t know. It’s too recognisable, it’d need to be somewhere like South America with moustaches.”
McGinn and Grealish were great pals at Villa Park during their time together, where they helped the club to promotion in 2019.
The Scotland international also played for three years at Hibernian from 2015 to 2018 and has now since been appointed Villa captain.
His brother, Paul, meanwhile has also played for Hibs from 2020 to 2022 before leaving for Motherwell.
