Two people have died and one person is critically injured following a shooting at a Texas shopping mall on Thursday evening.
The shooting occurred at The Arboretum in north Austin, Texas, and the area surrounding remains in lockdown. The gunman is in custody.
Two people were pronounced dead at the scene, and one adult one was transported to hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries.
Austin Police Department were called to the 10000 block of Research Boulevard service road shortly after 5pm after gunfire erupted at the mall.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to a shooting Thursday afternoon
Two other adults were being evaluated for minor injuries at the scene. It’s understood that their injuries happened after the initial ordeal.
According to witnesses, there are over 30 emergency vehicles at the scene of the active shooting, as well as a helicopter.
Cops said in a statement this evening: ‘APD officers are responding to an incident in the 10000 block of Research Blvd. Please avoid the area and follow directions of officers on scene. PIO is responding.
‘Officers have the scene contained at the moment but please continue to avoid the area. As of now there is no ongoing threat to the public.’
