ENTRY TO SOPHIA GARDENS

All ticket purchasers are to enter via the Gate that is on your respective tickets. For those who have purchased tickets, e-tickets have been sent to you via email from 14th July. You can also access your tickets by logging on to your account and downloading them there.

These can be printed at home but we encourage you to show and scan via your phone at the gate.

WE WOULD LIKE TO RECOMMEND YOU DOWNLOAD YOUR TICKETS TO YOUR APPLE WALLET OR GOOGLE WALLET.

FOR HOSPITALITY TICKET HOLDERS, YOU CAN ENTER THROUGH GATES 3 AND 4 from 10:30am

Tickets will also be available to buy from the Ticket Office at Gate 2 (card payments only).

If you are bringing a bag, please leave extra time for this bag to be searched and tagged on entry.


TRAVEL

There will be a Park & Ride running from Cardiff City Stadium and dropping off at Cathedral Road.

The first bus will be departing from Cardiff City Stadium at 10am.

The last bus will be from Cathedral Road at approx. 9pm.

£12 per vehicle.

THE ROADS AROUND THE GROUND WILL BE CLOSED FROM 10:30AM, SO THOSE WHO HAVE BOOKED ACCESSIBLE PARKING PLEASE ENSURE YOU ARRIVE WITH PLENTY OF TIME TO SPARE.

 

There is no public car parking available at the Stadium. There are a number of independent car parks located throughout the city,

If you are travelling by train/bike/foot:

Train: Cardiff Central railway station is about 1 mile from Sophia Gardens (walking time approx. 20 mins). There are regular high-speed trains that run between Cardiff and all major towns and cities including London, Bristol, Birmingham, Manchester and Swansea. For the latest train information, please visit www.nationalrail.co.uk

Bike: Supporters can travel via bicycle, for example, via the Taff Trail which runs from Cardiff Bay to Brecon. The Stadium has cycle parking spaces located across the ground.

Foot: The most popular and picturesque means of reaching the Stadium from the city centre is on foot. The final part of the leisurely stroll takes you along the banks of the famous River Taff and the grounds of Cardiff Castle. (Walking time approx. 20 mins).

Seating for our One Day International is ALLOCATED. Please see your ticket for information.

FOOD AND DRINK

 

Whatever whets your appetite, there’s sure to be a dish that will tickle your taste buds at Sophia Gardens.

There’s an extensive range of catering outlets located around the stadium to fuel your hunger, most will be located in the FOOD VILLAGE. The village is located behind the PROSTEEL ENGINEERING STAND, located on the map at the bottom of the guide.

With all of our catering outlets offering vibrant flavours and exciting menus, plus a wide selection of vendors serving vegetarian, vegan and halal menu options, you’re sure to find something that you can enjoy.

You’ll never be far away from a refreshing beverage, with bars and kiosks located around the venue. Whether you fancy a draught lager, a refreshing cider, a classic G&T or a soft drink – we’ve got you covered.

If you’re feeling fruity, go for the new Thatchers range or if you’re feeling adventurous, we have a choice of ales on offer from our partner Glamorgan Brewing Co and a selection of amazing gins from our Official Gin Partner, Hensol Gin.

Please note: we are still operating as a cashless stadium, so please bring card payment rather than cash.

SUSTAINABILITY

We have installed water fountains throughout the stadium to aid our push to stop the reliance on single-use plastic. These are located underneath the Castell Howell Stand, Pro Steel Engineering Stand and Thatchers Pavilion car parking area. Please bring a bottle to fill up.

In our public areas we have removed plastic single-use disposable pint glasses.

The Club will now be using the TWOINONE Flexy Glasses around the stadium.

The main benefits of the cup (relating to sustainability) are as follows:

– 100% Recyclable PRE / RecyClass Compliant

– FULLY Biodegradable New BSI Biodegradation standard (PAS 9017)

– Made in the UK – Low carbon footprint

– Breaks down if accidentally disposed of on land in an open environment, without causing effect to land

– No microplastic or toxins

We would like to encourage all spectators to use our various waste streams in the correct manner to help us meet our recycling goals.

ENTERTAINMENT

There are plenty of activities going on around the stadium to keep you entertained. You’ll be able to test your cricket skills in the Family Fun Zone, where you can also have your face painted on the Pavilion Lawn with our amazing Community Team.

There will be live music to entertain you with the Acoustic Duo once again gracing Sophia Gardens with their dulcet tones.

 

ACCESSIBILITY AND INCLUSIVENESS

Sophia Gardens Cardiff is a venue that caters for all of our visitors’ needs. It is our intention to provide information about accessibility of the facilities we have in place and the use of these facilities. Glamorgan Cricket now supply a match-day sensory pack for fans with sensory needs. These packs include items such as noise-cancelling headphones, fidget spinners, a map of the Stadium, and more.  

They are designed to enhance the matchday experience for people living with Autism, ADHD and Down Syndrome. The sensory packs will be available from Reception for a cost of £10 per pack.

We have a dedicated accessibility stewarding team on site – please speak to your nearest steward if you require any assistance.

We have been making improvements around the stadium and now have a Changing Places Toilet located on the Castell Howell concourse and we have a Family Toilet located behind the Riverside Stand.

A Multi-Faith Prayer rooms located is available and located within the Sport Wales building near Gate 2. Please ask the nearest steward if you require assistance.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

We ask that stadium visitors remain considerate and respectful whilst at the venue and remember that other Members, supporters and staff may have ongoing health challenges that may affect them or their close families.

There will be comprehensive searching procedures in place on arrival at the stadium. We appreciate your patience in helping us ensure we have a safe and secure event.

We have an experienced and knowledgeable stewarding team on hand to assist on the day. If you experience any health and safety concerns, please report to your nearest steward.
