International Day of the Programmer falls on Sept. 13 this year, and Fanatical, the online video game store, wants to give you free programming and game development ebooks. Here’s what you get and how to get them.
Learn programming and game development
The deal runs until midnight of Sept. 23, and the bundle includes four ebooks and a 20% voucher for other ebook bundles available on the website. Here are the ebooks you can get:
The first two are recently-published ebooks that teach programming for game development; Functional Programming in Go teaches concepts of programming techniques you can apply in Go; and Fundamentals for Self-Taught Programmers gives an introduction to software engineering and writing your first program.
The ebooks are available in EPUB, PDF, or MIXED format, and they’re yours to keep once you download them.
You need an account to claim the free ebooks
It’s easy to claim the ebooks: Just make an account with Fanatical (it’s free) or sign in if you already have one. Add the ebooks to your cart and check them out as if you were buying them. There is no catch, minimum spend, rewards program, or short sample eBook versions. Just a nice freebie from Fanatical celebrating the 256th day of the year, which is the number of distinct values in a byte.
