Swifties, the Taylor Swift faithful, helped to achieve record-breaking traffic to the Vote.org site after an Instagram post by the singer encouraged fans to register to vote.
The Vote.org site saw a 1226 percent jump in registrations, which amounted to 35,000 new registrations on National Voter Registration Day, according to a social media post by Voter.org CEO Andrea Hailey. That’s an average of 13,000 users every 30 minutes.

Hailey noted that there was a 115 percent uptick in 18-year-old registrants over the previous year. “Looking at these stats is electrifying, especially as we continue to see the youth mobilizing to protect their access to the ballot!” she wrote.
In Swift’s original post she said: “I’ve been so lucky to see so many of you guys at my US shows recently. I’ve heard you raise your voices, and I know how powerful they are. Make sure you’re ready to use them in our elections this year!” and included a link to the Vote.org site.
We both have the same #EndGame. Get folks registered to vote today!
