The bride herself was spotted on her hotel balcony in a white silk dressing gown, sipping her morning coffee as she prepared for her big day and, peering out on to the Grand Canal, in a far more glamorous gown, after the ceremony. As one would expect from a noted ambassador of the brand, the actress married in a custom-made Dior creation. A simple, strappy, A-line gown of soft taupe tulle was embroidered with hummingbirds, thistles and writing which no doubt centred on special meanings for the pair. She wore bold makeup, with a purple-tinted lip, and her signature ice-blonde locks were simple and loose, with a classic white veil affixed for that extra bridal touch.

The groom was seen arriving by boat in an effortless black wool jumper and dark denim jeans but clutching Dior bags and suit carriers, implying that the iconic French brand likely dressed the newlyweds from head to toe.

The celebration was held in 15th century Palazzo Pisani Moretta. A luxury wedding venue, it is situated near the Rialto Bridge. The interiors are a Baroque paradise of ornamentation; gilded wallpapers, frescoed ceilings, grand marble staircases and Gothic mullioned windows. It is the perfect setting for a romantic wedding, and ideal for an ethereal Dior tulle dress to be seen wafting down an ornate staircase…
