Air pollution is a major concern that makes inhaling every breath difficult. Eyes, skin and throat are the most sensitives towards dust and pollutant. Here is how to shield yourself.
Air Pollution: Every year Delhi becomes nothing sort of a “gas chamber”, as people like to say it. Come winter, the AQI levels in the capital and regions nearby start to decrease making every breath toxic. For many of us, we have become immune to being able to differentiate between the quality of the air, however, it takes a heavy toll on our health and sometimes we might not even realise it. People are frequently complaining of coughing, dry skin, burning sensation in eyes, redness in eyes and major breathing problems. How do we overcome it?
There is not a lot in our hands, but what we can do is improve our lifestyle and take the necessary precautions:
6-STEP ROUTINE TO PROTECT YOURSELF FROM AIR POLLUTION
Step 1: Always carry a mask and wear shades to protect yourself from dusty areas. Irritants can become a major discomfort in the eyes and lead to serious eye infections. Wearing a mask will help to lower the discomfort of breathing issues and cough.
Step 2: Keep a sanitiser. Maintaining proper hand hygiene even when in public spaces is extremely important.
Step 3: After returning home from the chaotic mess of the outside world, wash your hands properly.
Step 4: Healthy diet: Include immunity-boosting foods that can help to safeguard and fight the outside bacteria. Eat vitamin C-rich food, iron, minerals, calcium etc.
Step 5: Wash your face with a facewash or scrub after coming home from outside. It is imperative to get rid of all the micro-dust particles that are set on the skin and are not visible to the naked eye. Have a proper skincare routine to avoid getting acne, dryness and any other skin allergy.
Step 6: Drink turmeric milk to boost your immunity and have a restful sleep.
