September 03, (THEWILL) – Cristiano Ronaldo and his Senegalese teammate, Sadio Mane, continued their prolific goalscoring form in the Saudi Pro League as Al-Nassr cruised past Al Hazem, extending their winning run to three matches.
The dynamic attacking duo have been in sensational form for the Knights of Najd and showed no signs of slowing down when they faced the lower-ranked Al Hazem on Saturday evening. After facing some early resistance from the home side, Al-Nassr finally opened the scoring in the 33rd minute, with Abdulrahman Ghareeb netting his first goal of the campaign, thanks to an assist from Ronaldo.
Just three minutes later, Sadio Mane found the back of the net, only for VAR to disallow the goal, much to the frustration of the Al-Nassr bench. Nevertheless, the reigning Arab Cup champions extended their lead just before halftime, with the hardworking midfielder, Abdullah Alkhaibari, doubling the advantage in first-half stoppage time.
Al Hazem briefly threatened a comeback when Mohamed Badamosi unleashed a spectacular 30-yard strike to reduce the deficit. However, their resurgence was swiftly ended as Otavio finished off a delightful sweeping move involving Marcelo Brozovic and Ronaldo.
Ronaldo himself also got his name on the scoresheet to take his tally to six goals this season eight minutes after the hour mark. Shortly after, the Riyadh-based club added the finishing touch to the victory through the impressive Sadio Mane, the beneficiary of another intricate build-up by Al-Nassr.
This win extended their winning streak to three games, during which they have scored an impressive 14 goals while steadily climbing the Saudi League standings. Ronaldo now has 850 career goals to his name, which is an incredible testament to his longevity and talents.
