All Elite Wrestling returns to Chaifetz Arena this weekend

ST. LOUIS – Elton John says Saturday night is “the night for fighting.” And that seems to be the case, as pro wrestling returns to St. Louis and the Chaifetz Arena this weekend, with “Collision” by All Elite Wrestling.

Wrestling stars Darby Allin and Will “Power House” Hobbs spoke about the challenges in and out of the ring.

Hobbs returns to St. Louis in 2024 after being here in 2022 with All Elite Wrestling. The 6 foot, 2 inch and 265 pound professional wrestler says he has a change in attitude, and in his body for this year.

“I give credit to Tory Beacon who is my strength and conditioning coach. He is the strength and conditioning coach for the University of Texas football. Our business is rough, so we try to maintain. What we have and what we uh try to recuperate.”

The Mon-Star as he calls himself also changed his running mates and has recently found himself on the other side of the ring against the retired legend Ric Flair and soon to be retiring Sting.

“For me it was an iconic moment, especially for Sting retiring in March. I never thought I would be chopped by Ric Flair.

Hobbs has held gold in the wrestling promotion in the past and says he wants it again in 2024. “I’m a former TNT champion and I want more gold.”

This comes as former TNT Champion Darby Allin continues tag-teaming with the icon Sting, calling him the best to work with.

“The dude is not playing it safe. He’s so inspirational. He’s 65 years old going crazy. He has such a good work ethic. So inspirational.”

Allin says don’t let his size fool you. In a world of monsters, he is 5 feet, 8 inches and 175 pounds.

The 30-year-old says he maybe smaller but that’s never held him back, and not just in wrestling.

“They are like Darby. Go out there and be you. Do whatever you want to do and like the size has like never rendered me.”

Allin wants those of you who may not be wrestling fans to know that it is a must watch both in person and on TV.

“I feel like with AEW, it’s something completely different every single week and that’s not just a sales pitch. I truly believe that.”

You can watch AEW on TBS and TNT cable, you can catch them live Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Chaifetz Arena starting at 6 p.m. Some tickets are still available online.
