A new season of the famous 2010’s anime “Black Butler” will be available on Crunchyroll, an American entertainment company, in 2024.

During Anime Expo 2023, Crunchyroll surprised fans with a trailer for a new season of Black Butler.

Crunchyroll is an Anime streaming service owned by Sony Group Corporation. With 30,000 different anime episodes, the streaming platform has around 3 million subscribers.

The “Black Butler” trailer doesn’t reveal much about the storyline, and it doesn’t showcase whether this season will be a remake of the original season or if it will continue where the adaptation originally left off.

It’s shown in the trailer that the original voice actors for the main characters, Ciel and Sebastian, will be returning for the new season.

Black Butler is a dark anime that takes place in Victorian-era London and follows the main character Ciel as he teams up with Sebastian, a demon butler, to take revenge on the people who killed his family.

Season one debuted in 2008 with 24 episodes, followed by the second season in 2010 with 12 episodes. The third season, titled Black Butler: Circus Arc, aired in 2014 with 10 episodes.

Although the anime hasn’t had a season in almost 10 years, the manga has still been ongoing.

The manga currently has 32 volumes and is published in Square Enix’s shinen manga magazine, Monthly GFantasy.

The new season will be aired in 2024, with no specific date announced yet, and will be available for streaming on Crunchyroll.

It will be animated by Cloverworks rather than A-1 Pictures, who animated all the previous seasons; the new season will be directed by March Comes In Like A Lion director Kenjirou Okada.
