A&T’s Morrissey retains his Under-16 national sprint title

The teenage rider clocked a new national record of 10.832secs in the flying 200m qualifying as he represented the club in style.

Meanwhile, Stockport hosted round four of the Northern Fours & Junior League series on Sunday.

Bury convincingly took their fourth win of the Fours League series.

A&T and Hull were level on 26 points each after heat 16, in the battle for second place, before Hull then won four of their five remaining races to seal second on the day, with A&T third.

Northern Fours League Round Four result: Bury 58, Hull 44, A&T 36, Heckmondwike 34, Sheffield 31, Stockport 29.

A&T scorers: Steve Harris 13, Duncan Whalley 10, Owen Simcock 9, Levi Edwards 3, Josh Pilkington 1.

Sheffield took the team win, from the six categories which make up the Northern Junior League match, while A&T’s Duncan Whalley top scored in the u16 match.

Northern Junior League Round Four result: Sheffield 108, Hull 89, A&T 75, Heckmondwike 56, Bury 32, Stockport 0.

A&T scorers: Duncan Whalley 14, Josh Pilkington 13, Charlotte Brighouse 13, Owen Simcock 12, Elijah Rechembei 12, Levi Edwards 11.

There was more individual success for the club with young rider, Frank White, winning the u12 Grand Prix ‘A’ final in Saturday’s second national round of the British Youth & Junior League series at Hethersett, Norfolk.

Meanwhile, John White finished second in the u18 Grand Prix ‘A’ final.
