Taskin Ahmed then gets rid of Rashid Khan in the very next ball. He is caught by Shakib Al Hasan for 24(15) as Afghanistan are bundled out for 245 in 44.3 overs. Bangladesh win the match by 89 runs and remain alive in the competition.

A good over by Taskin Ahmed as just one boundary come from it. Rashid Khan manages to connect a fuller delivery by Taskin, sending the ball towards the long-off fence but that’s it. Nine runs come from it. AFG: 240-8 (43 overs)

Taskin Ahmed joins the party as he gets rid of Mohammad Nabi for 3(6). He gets the elevation but fails to get the distance as he is caught by Afif Hossain in front of the square leg boundaries.

Shakib bowls a tight over as just three runs come in it. 

Shoriful Islam, however, is punished by Gulbadin Naib in the next over as he hits the pacer for a SIX and a FOUR. The pacer then cleans up the batter for 15(13). AFG: 212-6 (40 overs)

Both the Bangladesh batters are now settled in, punishing every loose delivery. While they don’t hit Rashid Khan for a boundary and focus in strike rotation, Fazalhaq Farooqi is ripped apart by Najmul Hossain Shanto.

A good decision to bat first from Shakib under significantly hot conditions in Lahore. Even Afghanistan captain Shahidi indicated at the toss that he would’ve wanted to bat first as well.

But Andy Flower believes Afghanistan hold an upper hand over Bangladesh, and has even predicted for them to win and knock Shakib’s men out tonight.
