Beyoncé Announced Her New Country Album During 2024 Super Bowl

Beyoncé confirmed during her appearance in a Verizon commercial during the 2024 Super Bowl that her long-rumoured country album, which is the follow-up to Renaissance, will be coming on March 29.

During the advert, for which Bey is rumoured to have been paid $30 million (£27 million), the star tries — but fails — to break the internet a number of times before saying: ‘OK, they ready. Drop the new music.’

Shortly after the advert was broadcast, a clip was posted to Beyoncé’s Instagram, teasing the single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and asserting that Act II will drop next month. Two singles from the record, ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ and ’16 Carriages’ are available to stream on Tidal, Jay-Z’s streaming service, now.

The Texas native has previously confirmed that Renaissance is a ‘three act project.’

‘This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic,’ Beyoncé wrote in the liner notes accompanying Renaissance upon its release in July 2022. ‘A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.’

To attend the 66th Grammy Awards earlier this month, the Texas native wore a cowboy hat, which many of her fans interpreted to be a hint as to the star’s new musical foray.

Bey isn’t the first female star to dip their toe into the country music pond of late. Lana Del Rey confirmed in February that her country album, Lasso, is on its way, while country musician Kacey Musgraves confirmed that her fifth album, Deeper Well, will come out in mid-March.
