New Delhi: The consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on 22 January marks “the renaissance of India’s spiritual consciousness” and “heralds Ram Rajya in India for the next one thousand years with the beginning of a new kalachakra”, said a resolution passed by the BJP at its national council meeting Sunday.
Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership in this regard, the resolution, a copy of which is with ThePrint, said, “22 January was the day of aspiration and accomplishment for crores of Ram devotees, the renaissance of India’s spiritual consciousness and the beginning of the journey back to a great India.”
BJP national president J.P. Nadda, who moved the resolution, said, “The construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is a historic and proud moment for the country. This is the announcement of the beginning of Ram Rajya in India for the next 1,000 years.”
Calling the construction of the temple “a historic and glorious achievement for the country”, the resolution said it “could be completed because of the blessings of Shri Ram on the Prime Minister”.
“By the grace of Lord Shri Ram, Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji got the privilege of doing both the sacred work of bhoomi pujan and pran pratishtha of this historical temple,” it said.
Modi is taking the country to new heights “in this age of Amrit Kal”, it added.
“Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India’s unity and solidarity have received the power of public participation. He has raised the morale of the nation with his policies and leadership,” it said.
The resolution also praised Modi for his “unwavering commitment towards religion” and attributed the construction of the temple to his and the BJP’s determination.
“After the decision of the Supreme Court on 9 November 2019, the Central government led by… Modi ji without any delay formed Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, as a result of which the construction work of Shri Ram temple went on at a fast pace, and within just four years, the consecration of the idol of Ram Lalla was complete,” it said.
The resolution claimed that Ram inspired the Constitution.
“It is noteworthy that Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita and Ramayana are present in every aspect of Indian civilisation and culture. Our Constitution, dedicated to our democratic values and justice for all, has been inspired by the ideals of Ram Rajya,” it said.
“Even in the original copy of the Constitution of India, on the section of fundamental rights, the picture of Lord Shri Ram, Mother Sita and Lakshman ji after returning to Ayodhya after the victory is proof of the fact that Lord Shri Ram is the source of inspiration for the fundamental rights,” it added.
The resolution also claimed the idea of Ram Rajya was in the “heart of Bapu Mahatma Gandhi”.
“He (Gandhi) used to say that the idea of Ram Rajya is the idea of true democracy.”
The resolution further said said Modi has initiated several programmes and schemes that are taking the country forward.
“Following the ideals of Lord Shri Ram, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji has implemented the spirit of Ram Rajya in the true sense by establishing good governance in the country. The temple of Lord Shri Ram will play a decisive role in fulfilling the resolutions that we have adopted in building Viksit Bharat,” it said.
