MILAN — After a blockbuster show in Milan last year featuring Naomi Campbell and Fortune as part of a diverse cast, Boss is returning to the city’s fashion week to unveil its coed fall 2023 collection — poised to be filled with sustainable credentials.
The brand revealed Monday that the show will include a see now, buy now, limited-edition capsule collection dubbed “The Change” and comprised of outerwear pieces crafted from HeiQ’s trademarked HeiQ AeoniQ fabric.
Forgoing the use of oil-based yarns, such as polyester and nylon, the high-tech, plant-based fabric is combined with bio-based waterproof membranes and Swiss Pima cotton.
The three-layer textile is worked into a men’s double-breasted trenchcoat with a detachable belt, offered also in a women’s version. A third design, a genderless bomber jacket cut loose, combines the HeiQ AeoniQ fabric with padding mostly crafted from recycled silk.
Each piece comes with a serial number and a QR code unlocking information on Boss’ “The Change” initiative and the brand’s partnership with HeiQ AeoniQ, originally forged in 2022.
The tie-up is part of a long-term partnership between the German label and the supplier geared at making one among many steps toward climate neutrality by 2030, as part of Boss’ sustainability pledge. Earlier iterations of the collaboration included a polo shirt worn by Boss’ brand ambassador and tennis player Matteo Berrettini at the Australian Open in early 2023 and a drop of collarless polo shirts that bowed at the Boss Open in Stuttgart, Germany, last June.
Having embraced the see now, buy now format seasons ago, Boss has traveled to several destinations including Dubai, Milan and Miami for its spring collections, sticking to Milan’s September fashion week to unveil its fall lineups.
