It was the final week of the Celebrity MasterChef Heats on Tuesday night’s episode on the BBC.
The five celebrities up for the culinary challenge this time were actors Amy Walsh and Michael Praed, Black Eyed Peas rapper Apl.de.Ap, Strictly’s Dianne Buswell and Love Island’s Luca Bish.
And Emmerdale star Amy, 36, broke down in tears in an emotional moment as she told judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace why she decided to take part in the show.
While cooking up her first dish Gregg strolled over to her and asked why she wanted to take on the challenge.
She immediately welled up and lost her words before telling him that after becoming a mother to her daughter Bonnie two years ago with fiancé Toby Alexander-Smith she wanted to do something for herself.

Amy explained as she wiped away her tears: ‘I just wanted to do something for myself. I want to prove to myself I can do something good. I don’t know why I am getting emotional!
‘I think you just lose yourself and forget who you are a bit when you’ve been away from all that and then this opportunity came and I could have run a mile.
‘I have been so out of the work game, I am normally in a tracksuit in the play pen with my baby 90 per cent of the time eating baked potatoes because that’s easier!’
Later as she got great feedback for her fish and tomato dish Gregg told her: ‘You need to enjoy your cookery more and just believe in yourself!’
She then impressed again with her curry and lemon posset in the dinner party challenge.
Elsewhere it was Dianne who was sadly sent home as the other advanced to the next round.
She said as she left: ‘I feel gutted to be the first to go home, eliminations get to me! but they get to me even though I am used to them!’

In front of John and Gregg were five cloches and underneath each was a different ingredient.
One by one each celebrity had to pick a cloche and using the ingredient they revealed, along with a larder, create one dish showcasing that ingredient to demonstrate to the judges they had potential.
With nerves running high and just an hour to create their dish from scratch, the celebrities had to think on their feet to impress the judges.
Then in the final test of culinary creativity, the celebrities were asked to prepare their Dinner Party Dishes – a main course and a dessert that they would cook to impress someone who was coming round to eat – in just an hour and 15 minutes.
The celebrities worked furiously in a final attempt to prove themselves to John and Gregg and at the end one had to go home.
It comes after last week Celebrity Masterchef fans threw their support behind Wynne Evans to be crowned the 2023 winner after a tense semi-final.
The Go Compare advert singer, 51, competed against Jamelia and DJ Locksmith in Friday’s quarter-final heat to secure their place in the semi-finals.
It was Locksmith who was sadly sent home after his dishes failed to impress judges John and Gregg, while singer Jamelia and Wynne went through.
The pair were overjoyed to secure their place in the semi-finals after winning their heat this week, after other stars battled it out for their place in previous weeks.
They have joined the likes of Mica Ven, The Wanted’s Max George, Shazia Mirza and Marcus Brigstocke in the semi-final.
And viewers were left seriously impressed by Wynne’s cooking skills on Friday as they took to Twitter to share their theories that he will be crowned the 2023 winner.
One wrote: ‘Wynne is going to win,’ while another said: ‘Absolutely the best celebrity I’ve seen on MasterChef, well done Wynne.’
A third gushed: ‘Wynne for the win. No comparison,’ and another wrote: ‘Stop the count, Wynne wins this whole thing.’
Another commented: ‘This definitely had to be the closest week of #celebritymasterchef they’ve had. The standard was high.’
One added: ‘Really pleased Wynne & Jamelia went through. Locksmith is going to have to do a lot more cooking at home now that he has revealed he can cook!’
Wynne appeared thrilled to have made it through to the semi-finals after the results were revealed on Friday, and he also heaped praise on his fellow contestant Jamelia.

He said: ‘It is just beyond my dreams, I’m thrilled, and I’m just so thrilled for Jamelia.’
While Jamelia gushed: ‘I’m going to celebrate, I’m going to have a fizzy drink because I’m still breastfeeding.’
Locksmith was left disappointed not to have secured a place in the semi-finals as he was sent home after the tense quarter-final challenge.
After the result was revealed, he admitted: ‘There is a hint of disappointment, because there are certain things I knew I could have done slightly better. I just couldn’t unlock this door, no pun intended!’
