Multiple Chicago Sky players revealed Wednesday that guard Chennedy Carter was the target of racist harassment outside a hotel in Washington, D.C.
According to forward Angel Reese, someone found out which hotel the team was staying in specifically to harass them and record the incident.
“Finding out our teams hotel to pull with a camera as we get off the bus and put it in my teammates face & HARASS her is NASTY WORK,” Reese tweeted. “This really is outta control and needs to STOP.”

Around the same time, forwards Michaela Onyenwere and Isabelle Harrison also took to social media to condemn the incident, saying the team couldn’t even get off the bus at first.
Getting harassed at our hotel is where the line needs to be drawn. Some “fans” have NO CHILLLLL 🤮

When asked about security, Onyenwere added that the situation was quickly de-escalated. Still, she called it “extremely weird.”
Interesting how the video posted was edited and doesn’t include when he harassed our staff while calling us “ghetto b******” and saying “women’s sports isn’t s***”.
We are not about to normalize things like that.

Later in the night, the video in question was posted online. In the video, the man recording can be heard asking Carter if she’s spoken to Caitlin Clark.
It appears the account that posted the original video of the blog reporter asking Chennedy Carter questions got nuked.

Last weekend, Carter committed a flagrant foul when she shoved Clark to the ground. She and other WNBA veterans have since been under immense scrutiny for their perceived treatment of Clark and other rookies.
Although the man simply asks Carter about Clark in the posted video, Onyenwere claims there was much more to it. In response to critics calling out the players for exaggerating the situation, she said the man also called them “ghetto bitches.”
