On top of all of the things Costco already does right, its food court is one place that consistently delivers. Between the newly viral Costco hot dog hack and the widely talked-about return of the diced onion machine, the devoted following that the Costco food court has garnered over the years has only continued to grow. Now, as if things couldn’t get better, everyone’s favorite big-box wholesale club is adding yet another must-try item to its already extensive menu.

Costco just debuted a new roast beef sandwich in the food court and it’s already making a splash on the internet. Featuring stacks of sliced roast beef, onion relish, a mayo and mustard blend, lettuce, roasted cherry tomatoes, and red onions on a fluffy artisan roll, the only thing you would be missing after this sandwich is your bed to take a nap. We can’t wait to get our hands on one ourselves!

Perhaps one of the pricer items on Costco’s food court menu, the roast beef sandwich definitely seems to pack a punch worthy of the $9.99 price point, but some Costco fans aren’t thrilled with the cost of the new sandwich.

“9.99 for a sandwich, what happened to it being a cheap lunch?” questioned one frustrated shopper. Another commenter weighed in with their experience: “It’s big enough for two meals for one person, or two people to split. Considering the amount of meat that was on it, I thought it was a fair price.”

The overall consensus seems to be split down the middle on the topic of both price and taste. So if you find yourself moseying on over to Costco’s food court this week, split a roast beef sandwich with a friend and decide for yourself if Costco hit the mark on this one or not.
