Trump also alluded to a potential running mate for the vice presidency in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures. Maria Bartiromo questioned Trump on the subject of potential running mates for the presidency.
“You employ some very talented individuals. Some of them have impressed me. I’m actually quite friendly with some of them. Many of them called me, not to ask for permission but rather to sort of express their desire to carry it out, according to Trump. You have good people and good potential cabinet members, in my opinion.
Donald Trump added that he was also talking to potential cabinet members but declined to give specific names of people he might choose as a running mate. Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), who is running for president, was the subject of a question from Maria Bartiromo.
Tim is excellent. Tim is currently in the country campaigning, but I could see him doing something with the administration, the man said. “But you have other very talented people, and Tim is a talented guy.”
RealClearPolitics’ analysis of recent polls shows that Trump is ahead in every one of them, with an average of 53%. Governor Ron DeSantis, on the other hand, polls at 20.6%, putting him in second place.

The other GOP candidates, such as former vice president Mike Pence, former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley, senator from South Carolina Tim Scott, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, have single-digit support in the majority of polls and have not yet surpassed the ten percent threshold.
Ron DeSantis, the governor of Florida, recently expressed his disinterest in running as Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024 if Trump wins the nomination.
During the Wisconsin Right Now podcast, DeSantis responded to a query with, “I’m not a No. 2 guy.” “I feel like a leader. I’ve accomplished a great deal in my time as governor of Florida. I believe that staying there would allow me to accomplish more than being the vice president, which carries no real power.
DeSantis’ comments prompted Trump spokesperson Steven Cheung to immediately rule out the possibility of considering DeSantis as a running mate.
“Nobody is Ron DeSantis’ guy. Not “the guy” is he. Cheung remarked, “He’s just ‘a guy. Because his numbers are as small as he is, Ron is just standing there, sour and depressed.
