Flashing and moving head lights, fans screaming to a Depeche Mode concert blaring in the background — Elisabetta Franchi set the stage for her spring collection turning to one of her favorite bands.
The energy was there, as Jessica Stam opened the show wearing a sparkly halter top evening dress with a cutout and a high slit under an oversize denim jacket wrapped around her elbows and over sturdy motorcycle boots — the best outfit for a concert, believes Franchi.
“Before, you would go to a a restaurant to have dinner, now you go for the experience and the same can be said for a concert, preparing for that event, sharing energy with thousands of people,” the designer said.
Franchi alternated long silhouettes with super short ones, as in a tiny leather skirt and jacket over a sheer top — all in black. The collection was strong on metallics, seen in the sporty silver pants under a simple black vest, or in the miniskirt under a white blazer. Leather shorts looked cool, as did the tailored trenches.
The designer knows her customer and they are sure to embrace this collection — whether they are concertgoers or not.
