Emergency services sent to Little Hulton after report of attack

Emergency services were called to Longshaw Drive at around 10pm on following a report of a disturbance.

A cordon was set up on the street and police remained there until the hours of this morning, Friday.

Paramedics attended and a man was taken to hospital.

People expressed their shock at what had taken place.

Jacqueline Wilson, who has lived on the street for 43 years, said: “I believe there was a lad stabbed further down.

“Of course it is worrying.

“This is a lovely street, they are all good neighbours, it is just chaos.

“Police were still there at 4am.”

One man, who drove past at the time, said: “We saw there were armed police, we thought that someone had been shot.

“We saw two undercover cars and two normal cars.”

Another woman who lives nearby said: “There were police here and there was an ambulance and paramedics.

“There was an injured man on the floor just outside my house.

“He was on the pavement, I think they put him there.

“There were quite a few police here and they closed the street.”

A woman who lives further up the street said: “I heard it was a stabbing.

“Police were here.

“They closed it all off from the bus stop.

“I have lived here 13 to 14 years, it is very worrying.

“I have never seen anything like it here.

“They are all older, quiet people who live here.”

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: “We have taken a man to hospital, following a police incident.”

Greater Manchester Police has been approached for a comment.
