Roland Quandt (@rquandt) was one of the first leakers to claim the upcoming release of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro. His brief tweet doesn’t include any details, though. In fact, he adds, “I have no idea when, what, how, this that, anything but the fact they’re in the works.”
Galaxyclub corroborated the rumors by adding that Samsung has been spotted working on two new earbud models. According to the development firmware, their model numbers are SM-R530 and SM-R630. If the rumors are true and the firmware is in the works, the launch is likely to happen soon.

When Are the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Releasing?
The Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro was released in January 2021, followed by the second iteration, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, in August 2022. Consumers were expecting the third-gen to be released at the July 2023 Samsung’s Unpacked event, but that didn’t happen; the company released their entry-level Galaxy Buds FE instead. There were similar expectations from the January 2024 Galaxy Unpacked event as well, but that didn’t end up happening, too.
Since the next Galaxy Unpacked is rumored to be in early July 2024, there are high chances of the buds being released then. This timeline also makes sense considering the timing of the 2024 Olympics, which Samsung heavily sponsors. Samsung could be strategically planning its new releases around a time when it knows it can market them well.
How Much Are the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Going to Cost?
While there’s no insider info on pricing yet, it’s highly probable that the Buds 3 Pro will cost a little more, if not the same, as its predecessor. Considering the steep inflation, a slight bump in price is expected. The Galaxy Buds Pro retails for $200, and the second-gen costs $230, so you can guess how much the Buds 3 Pro is going to cost.
What Will the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Feature?
There’s not much info about the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro’s potential features either. Tom’s Guide predicts that it’s possible for the buds to offer some health features, including a heart rate monitor. They emphasize that this is merely speculation for now.
Sammobile expects overall improvements to sound, ANC, and battery life but adds that the buds probably won’t make drastic changes considering the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro’s cost. According to TechRadar, the Buds will almost definitely feature the live translation feature that the Buds 2 Pro recently received in an update.
Looking at the unusually long time (more than a year and a half) Samsung is taking to upgrade its Galaxy Buds this time, it’s only fair to expect a number of considerable improvements. It looks like people really want a speaker in the case (that’s rumored for AirPods 2024) and a better windshield for calls.
