While season two of House of the Dragon is arriving this summer, another HBO Game of Thrones prequel is making progress toward actually arriving on screens. Big progress, actually: A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight has just found its Dunk and Egg.

This news comes from Entertainment Weekly, which reports that Peter Claffey (Vikings: Valhalla) is aboard to play awkward but brave young knight Ser Duncan the Tall, with nine-year-old Dexter Sol Ansell (who played a younger version of Coriolanus Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) will play “Egg,” Dunk’s squire and [REDACTED NO BOOK SPOILERS!]

EW has the official description as follows: “Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.” The show will adapt the first three George R.R. Martin novellas in the series: 1998’s The Hedge Knight, 2003’s The Sworn Sword, 2010’s The Mystery Knight. He’s aboard as one of the show’s executive producer and writers, along with House of the Dragon writer Ira Parker. House of the Dragon co-creator Ryan Condal is also among the exec producers.

As A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight rolls into preproduction—it’s due “late 2025 on Max,” according to EW—and the House of the Dragon season two hype heats up, we can expect to hear more about what’s to come in Westeros very shortly.

Update: the original post was updated to add the headshots provided by Max.
